United Baristas Academy - early release

The forthcoming United Baristas Academy helps people who work in coffee develop the skills they need to progress. The site is now in early release.

Equipping the next generation of baristas, managers and owners

Building on United Baristas’ core pillars of commercial viability, equipment, shop management, coffee tasting and coffee’s carbon footprint, we are preparing to launch a series of short courses.

We believe there has been too much emphasis on coffee-making skills and too little opportunity for progression in the areas that drive business growth, productivity and profitability.

The Academy is currently in early release, with:

• Exam for Coffee Tasting Masterclass

Selling on Marketplace Course

This course supersedes our Getting Started on Marketplace series on United Baristas Go. We are sunsetting Go and transferring its content to United Baristas Academy.

Coffee Tasting Masterclass certificate

Participants in Coffee Tasting Masterclasses can now sit a short, 10-question exam. A passing grade of 80% earns them a certificate.

Next steps

The Academy is just getting started and is currently in early release. We are developing resources, courses and classes for coffee people ahead of the wider launch in 2027.

The site is still under development, so there are bugs, design issues and plenty of content still to be added. Please use it with caution and let us know about any critical issues.

We have made United Baristas Academy available so that we can test its functionality, keep the Marketplace information up to date, and ensure that Masterclass participants have understood the fundamentals of coffee tasting.
