We've had a great response to the launch of United Baristas Market 2 🚀 Thanks for your feedback and support – it's been our biggest launch to date! And it's great to see the coffee industry being active after lockdowns in the face of current economic uncertainty. Of course, your use of Market throws up the occasional gremlin/bug and identifies ideas for future improvements. We've improved how you can communicate remote working roles on United Baristas Jobs. Just tick the box to denote Remote Working. Your job will be displayed as 'remote'. It's useful for sales roles or jobs where people don't have to be in the office or shop. You should still add the location of the base location or HQ.

We've reverted to the previous Company information on United Baristas Jobs for a number of reasons. Firstly, it's easier when adding a job. Secondly, your company information syncs better with third-party job sites. And thirdly, the software we were using was causing occasional job listing template issues. In principle we like the idea of a dedicated Company page with your relevant, open jobs – but we're going to put this aside for the time being while we work on other United Baristas Jobs functions and think again about how to create a better execution of this idea in the future. As of today we have deleted company info and reinstated the your previous company info. Current listings should be okay, but please do check and let us know if there's any issues. We're going to leave this idea on the Roadmap so you know that we're thinking about it 🤔
We were exploring an idea of creating a listing type for bundles of coffee equipment. For example, maybe you want to list a Linea PB and a EK43 for a single price, or maybe a Black Eagle and an E65s. There are pro and cons. ✅ It could make listing multiple items easier ✅ Some people are looking for a complete set up ❌ Our research shows groups of items in a single listing are less likely to sell ❌ It would need to be carefully designed: would the example Linea PB and EK43 appear in both the espresso machine and grinder categories (this could be confusing for buyers) or in a special bundled equipment section (less visibility) ❌ Marketplace structure and listing the bundle would be more complex than ideal On balance we've decided not to further develop this function, at least for the time being. Both sellers and buyers are better served with one item per listing. Plus we have other development priorities for Marketplace. If you have thoughts, let us know. Okay, this is a massive update. Based on the learning from United Baristas Equipment [Beta], we paused development in 2021 with intention of implementing those functions directly into United Baristas Market. Today, we are announcing that work is underway to: • incorporate the equipment directory directly into United Baristas Market • move all company profiles, including engineers, into United Baristas Market • implement associated servicing and retailer searches into United Baristas Market We will notify impacted businesses once we have prepared the necessary steps for the transition. It's a big project for us, so please be patience and bear with us while we make these changes. Updates on the progress below 👇
We are updating both the communication and function of payment options on United Baristas Market. The purpose is to make buying items easier, to further enhance community safety and make the listing process more straightforward. While we make these changes, some payment options will be removed and others will be temporarily unavailable. Unfortunately in some cases some users will need to update their payment options as we are not able to transfer all setting from the old to the new configuration. We will update all users when we have finished this work.
We are making changes to the function of the Enquiry Form across United Baristas Market. Going forwards: • the enquiry form will be displayed on all listings (current implementation) • enquiries will be sent to the email address associated with the Market account (change) • plus, some listing plans will allow users to opt to send emails to an alternate email address (useful for some larger organisations) We are making these changes to: • make the listing process easier • enhance security for all the United Baristas Market community • reduce possibility of human error when adding a contact email address
